Finished the top for my Fuu costume last night. With luck (knock on wood) the rest of the costume will go easier. There's a pair of pants with minimal trim, a lined dress with trim around the hem, and a belt with a bow in the back. And, if I wanted to get technical, a pair of Arabian-esque pointed toe shoes. Room reservations for Fanime are made. So, yay!

Also finished sewing on the yin-yang, now I just have to finish the inside bottom edge of the orange trim and Fuu's top will be done and I can move on to pants. Hopefully I can finish the top tonight and move on to making trousers tomorrow.

But first, dance class!

Hmm. Well, had a pow-wow with group members tonight and we ironed out what we're going to do in place of the set that got cancelled. It's still very pretty so I'm not upset about it. Hmm. Well, major costume plans for this year have been kind of derailed due to several factors, many of which are beyond any of our group's control. So... back to the drawing board? My sister dropped off a bunch of old film to be developed and got the results back today. One roll was apparently mine.

Last night I put on Onmyouji while I sewed, as it's a movie I've watched often enough that I don't need to /watch/ it, Japanese dialogue or not. Plus it's so slashy (always a plus). Today, I was virtuous. Did bank things and payment things and went to Home Depot after work where I discovered the peppers I want to grow this year (Caribbean Reds) and signed Wonderful Husband and I up for dance classes, etcetera. There are certain moments in costuming when what you're working on just gels and comes together right, as it should be, as you've theorized it to be, after hours of tedium and setbacks and various levels of frustration.
