Both aprons done, laundry done and put away, dishes done and put away, Spider-Man 3 watched (personal review: better than X-Men 3, which granted isn't saying too much, and my favorite parts were the Peter/Harry fights, all of them), on to swtjemz's obi.

Last night I went up to Liz's new place for a sewing night. Got about 20 minutes' worth of lost on the way, and have a background program running in my brain musing on what the best way to get there from here is likely to be in the future. On a run about of errands today, I picked up fabric for the kimono, hakama, and obi I'm making for swtjemz and yzo for Fanime, hit the Build-A-Bear workshop in Fashion Island for some spot-cleaner for plushies, and then went over the the formerly $.98 Marukai store, which is now mostly a Japanese furniture store but still has a food section. Somehow I'd never thought that ironing fabric could make my wrist hurt. OTOH, the iron does have weight and it is a repetetive motion, so.... Ironed fabric for two kimono and a dress this morning. Still have fabric for two more kimono and two hakama to iron, as well as any shirts in the clean-laundry pile ( Read more... )

Finished the top for my Fuu costume last night. With luck (knock on wood) the rest of the costume will go easier. There's a pair of pants with minimal trim, a lined dress with trim around the hem, and a belt with a bow in the back. And, if I wanted to get technical, a pair of Arabian-esque pointed toe shoes.
