Character Meme

So, I seem to be writing again. Haven't finished anything yet, but I've managed at least a little bit three nights in a row, so eventually one of those fragments should blossom into a full fic. I hope.

And in the meantime, a meme!

Hmm. Well, seeing how I just got into Doctor Who and I already know you love The Doctor, how about Rose Tyler?

Yay, you're watching it! Should have known someone would pick Rose, though... XD

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I adore her. I'm never sure how to explain why, she's just one of those few female characters that actually not only come across like real girls to me, but like real girls that I might actually enjoy spending time with irl. Plus she's brave, and clever, and she loves running around the universe saving people as much as the Doctor does (which, er, if you've not checked out any Classic Who yet, you might not know has not always been the case with companions). I just love her. She's my favourite companion.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Of most of RTD's era, yes. Very important to the mythology arcs of most seasons, vital in fact. I don't know how far in you are, though, so I don't wanna say too much.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?Er, depends on how you mean 'relate'? She's not the one I identify myself ( ... )

Aw, so glad to hear you like Rose. :3 I was curious to see what you'd think of her, since yeah, from what I've seen she's a major base breaker. I really don't get what the hate is for-- I'll admit she can occasionally be pretty selfish and she was occasionally a bit of a bitch toward her mom and Mickey, but she grew out of it and her relationship with the Doctor is too adorable for words.

Personally, yeah, I love her to pieces. I've actually grown to not really like shipping as much as I used to, but I adore Doctor/Rose. Just... ohGodsoadorable. Like... they are so in love with ADVENTURE and each other that it's practically canon and I adore it. She just seems like she'd be fun to hang out with and she and the Doctor affected each other so much and lawls Star Trek jokes and... yes ( ... )

So relieved to hear you do too! XD

This, exactly, yes! I love how you say 'practically', as though David and Billie and Rusty don't all ship it like the Spanish Armada. I mean, it is canon, really, which just contributes more to my love of the show, because YAY I CAN SHIP CANON IN THIS ONE, YAAAAAAAY! XD

Oh, you're at Doomsday... yeah, that one is hard to get over. *hugs* But it's worth it. Just, erm, when you are ready to go on, give the next girl a fair chance? Some people are kind of hard on her because the writers spend too much time on a part of their dynamic that's really not the best thing about her, but she's awesome underneath. (Also, there are a couple of really bad episodes in the middle of season 3 but it really picks up near the end, I promise.)

Heheheh, the other Who character I was hoping someone would pick... XD

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I love him. The newer version's scary and evil and completely shithive, but he's also funny and dynamic and obsessed with the Doctor in a massively slashy way, and oh hell yes. And then the older versions tend to be cool and suave in that 'evil gentleman' sort of way, and he always comes up with the most stupid plans ever as though he really actually wants the Doctor to stop him, and look, there's that obsession with the Doctor again - or rather, already, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

He is like the prototype for the Classic Movie Villain, as if they're all trying to be him and failing. Including the ones who preceded him, but, hell, time travel, who came first means nothing.

Wow, that's long. But, yeah, I love him.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?Well, he's not around all that much, unless you wanna talk about Pertwee's second season, during which the Master ( ... )
