So, I seem to be writing again. Haven't finished anything yet, but I've managed at least a little bit three nights in a row, so eventually one of those fragments should blossom into a full fic. I hope.
And in the meantime, a meme!

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I adore her. I'm never sure how to explain why, she's just one of those few female characters that actually not only come across like real girls to me, but like real girls that I might actually enjoy spending time with irl. Plus she's brave, and clever, and she loves running around the universe saving people as much as the Doctor does (which, er, if you've not checked out any Classic Who yet, you might not know has not always been the case with companions). I just love her. She's my favourite companion.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Of most of RTD's era, yes. Very important to the mythology arcs of most seasons, vital in fact. I don't know how far in you are, though, so I don't wanna say too much.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Er, depends on how you mean 'relate'? She's not the one I identify myself with in the show, that would be the Doctor, but as I said above, I'd love to spend time with her. As for gripping me emotionally, of course she does! I love her to bits!
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
A LOT! Doctor Who is by far my favourite show right now, especially Davies-era Who, but I'm enjoying a lot of things about Moffat's Who as well.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (Romance-wise or platonic)
Doctor/Rose all the way! I just adore them together - they're not my OTP, but they might have been had a certain other person not come back, because she is exactly what the Doctor needed during this part of this life, and she grows and learns so much just by being around him... Also doesn't hurt that I identify with him and I'm a bit in love with her myself. Also, Doctor/Rose/Jack is very much of the good.
And yeah, I know, het, but sometimes there are those hetships that are just that good.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Er, I'd like her to ease off on the jealousy a bit? I can deal with that, though.
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
Well, she's friendly enough and nice enough to get through my shyness enough that we could talk... and then there'd probably be lots of jokes about scanning for alien tech, and trying to provoke the Doctor into calling something "Fascinating" to see if he raises the eyebrow, and dammit, I don't even know if you're far enough in to know why the Star Trek jokes would come out, but believe me, they would. In abundance.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favourites (if you like) or least favourites?
Favourite companion, definitely - only Jack and Romana really come close so far. And... she is pretty high on my general list of awesome characters, yeah.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
I'd probably not mention her much, I'd be too busy talking about the Doctor, and besides, she's a base-breaker.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Well, as I said, she's a base-breaker. There's a crapload of Roselove and an equal crapload of Rosehate (which I don't understand for a moment, not even a teensy bit, she's just awesome) in the fandom, so you've just got to hang around the right places and avoid the wrong ones if you can...

Personally, yeah, I love her to pieces. I've actually grown to not really like shipping as much as I used to, but I adore Doctor/Rose. Just... ohGodsoadorable. Like... they are so in love with ADVENTURE and each other that it's practically canon and I adore it. She just seems like she'd be fun to hang out with and she and the Doctor affected each other so much and lawls Star Trek jokes and... yes.
I just finished season two and haven't seen any of the classic series yet, so... ugh. Like, I'm still pulling myself out of mourning over the ending so I can get myself to watch season three. Like I KNOW I will enjoy it since The Master shows up, but, but... auuugh Rose. ;_;

This, exactly, yes! I love how you say 'practically', as though David and Billie and Rusty don't all ship it like the Spanish Armada. I mean, it is canon, really, which just contributes more to my love of the show, because YAY I CAN SHIP CANON IN THIS ONE, YAAAAAAAY! XD
Oh, you're at Doomsday... yeah, that one is hard to get over. *hugs* But it's worth it. Just, erm, when you are ready to go on, give the next girl a fair chance? Some people are kind of hard on her because the writers spend too much time on a part of their dynamic that's really not the best thing about her, but she's awesome underneath. (Also, there are a couple of really bad episodes in the middle of season 3 but it really picks up near the end, I promise.)

And yeah, that's... very true. XD The shipping is so blatant it's hilarious.
