It's been longer than I realized since I updated! I keep meaning to post, but I have to admit I've had my head down reading all the STBB fics I could get my grubby little mitts on. I still have plenty to read, but I've been hearing that nagging little voice in the back of my head saying, "Post! Your friends are missing you." So, being the puritanical American that I am, I finally took the gag off the voice and unlocked the handcuffs around her wrists in order to bring you an update.
Besides the totally awesome birthday week, I've been getting out of the condo much more frequently, especially on the weekends, which makes me very, very happy. About my social life, but not the state of my condo, because I'm crap at keeping up with chores when I don't spend enough time at home. Ah, well, I'd rather be having fun face-to-face than cleaning anyways.
I've actually been to two movies this month, which is great as I've been in a movie going drought for a while. Not sure why, it's not like there weren't movies to see, there just seemed to be little impetus to go! However, I went to see RED with
jou and
maypirate a couple of weeks ago, which was totally awesome! I loved the movie and it was great seeing Karly-bear get so much screen time in something that really gave him a good meaty part. And one of my favorite authors wrote fic that so totally could be a sequel to the movie:
Agency by
ayalesca. Author's summary: Cooper chases after Frank; they go round and round in circles. This means more than either of them realizes.
Then this past weekend I went to see Inception with Sail!Dad, which was a very intriguing movie. The ending left me gaping; I want to know if the top fell or not! Not really, at this point in my life I'm much more accepting of ambiguous endings and more than willing to make up my own mind as to what I think happened. ::smiles mysterious smile::
I've also gotten out at various times to do miscellaneous activities with friends and family, more nice things to squirrel away in my memories! We (for all values of we that include
jou,
maypirate and
infinityduck) did a cheese plate dinner at
jou's one night where we watched Carriers (oh, Captain Fine, what were you thinking?) and (too much?) Say Yes to the Dress, which gleefully spawned this entry on her part:
Dresses!. Go check it out and then answer my poll!
View poll: #4980 A couple of dinners/lunches out with various friends and family to round out the month and October was a particularly satisfying month. November is lining up to be fairly spectacular, too, as I've got tickets for the Trans Siberian Orchestra for next week with teh daughter. I've been wanting to go for a long time and no one else in the family has ever espoused any interest. So, I'm really looking forward to that. Yay!
