This tall gentleman is certainly looking assured of himself today.

Casting an amused glance over the assembled Sages, he leans back against a convenient Lamp-post and brushes his heavy black hair out of his face before shrugging and looking thoughtful.

"Will you kill for those you love?"

"Depends. I'd kill to protect them, if that's what you mean. But I wouldn't kill just on their say so."

He shakes his head, hair swinging in all directions.

"No, I mean kill to protect. Or kill to save them, for that matter."

"Absolutely. My friends, family, and Clan mean everything to me. I'd do whatever I had to to protect them."

"It's good to see that we speak the same language, then."

He smiles -- and while it's an honest smile, it's not entirely a sane one.

"I'd die for the ones I love."

"Dying is the simpler sacrifice."

"Would you make someone else die for them?"

"I wouldn't do that normally. There would have to be really, really, damn good reasons."

"To take a life to save a life, then."

If anything, he looks a little amused, now.

"You won't always have time to think it over, you know."

"It's always pleasant to hear from a voice of reason."

He nods, and smiles slightly.

"And no hesitation? I'm flattered."

Ginta shrugs. "Gotta protect your own, right?"

His brows knit together. "Flattered? I'm not sure I get why."

"Exactly."

"Because too many people are either afraid to act, or else they won't admit to it."

Despite his resolution, despite his fear, despite the damn Rider, Enzan was here. More specifically, he was as far as he could get from Blaze while still being able to talk to him.

"If it's you, yes."

Blaze noted the careful distance between them and lifted a brow sardonically at Enzan.

"Oh, honestly, little boy."

"Do you think that we act any differently in that regard?"

"Yes, I do." He narrowed his eyes right back. "And if you're seeking validation here, you'll never get it with the whole truth."

"Then you're deluding yourself, sad to say. You've done the same, after all."

Shrugging, Blaze settled himself more comfortably against the lamp-post.

"Why would I ask perfect strangers for validation?"

"Only small children need their hands held that way."

"Of course," he says instantly.

"Have you?"

He nods.

"Yes. And I would do it again, no matter what the law here says. It would be wrong not to."
