I walked into the nexus, I was soaked. It was raining as I walked back from my apartment. I had just got back from a night with my parents.

"So, anyone other than me have a dis functional family? One that you see self destructing before your very eyes?"

"I've been very careful about who's in my family, so no...you okay Zack?"

I paused and looked at Ali. The girl was as beautiful as ever.

"Sadly I'm not Ali, my parents are very....difficult people. They don't agree with my career choices and they sure as hell don't agree with each other. It's why i got out of that place the second I could."

[vicioussweetie]

"Oh, I'm sorry. You're all wet. Maybe you should go home and put some dry clothes on?"

[zak_hunter]

I sigh and take my duster and fedora off. The rain from them drips to the ground as I find a place to put them.

"Lucky for me, its just my duster and fedora. I actually am starting to doubt that they are my real parents."

[painterlady]

"Well..I think I must be the disfunctional one. I...know my choices in life have always bugged my folks. Only one who comes out and says it is my Dad though."

[zak_hunter]

"I know that feeling all too well, lucky for you its only one parent. Try it being the only thing they agree on."

I put my hand out and smile at her.

"My names Zack Hunter. I'm a private eye."

[painterlady]

"Well, Mom never says much anyways...Just her way." Lilly takes the offered hand.
"Lilly Ross. Nice to mee you, Zack."

[zak_hunter]

I take her hand and bend down to kiss it.

"The pleasure is all mine Ms. Lilly."

She grinned, "Well I do know we put the fun in disfunctional. But I doubt we'll self destruct."

[red_stain_robin]

"I think everyone has dysfunctional families here, is something wrong?"

[zak_hunter]

I looked at him for a minute. He looked familiar, though the fangs were a dead give away to what he was.

"Well long story short, turns out, I'm adopted."

[red_stain_robin]

He carefully adjusted his expression, hiding his fangs. "Hm, sounds like the news didn't go over well."
