I walked into the nexus, I was soaked. It was raining as I walked back from my apartment. I had just got back from a night with my parents.

"So, anyone other than me have a dis functional family? One that you see self destructing before your very eyes?"

"I've been very careful about who's in my family, so no...you okay Zack?"

I paused and looked at Ali. The girl was as beautiful as ever.

"Sadly I'm not Ali, my parents are very....difficult people. They don't agree with my career choices and they sure as hell don't agree with each other. It's why i got out of that place the second I could."

[vicioussweetie]

"Oh, I'm sorry. You're all wet. Maybe you should go home and put some dry clothes on?"

I sigh and take my duster and fedora off. The rain from them drips to the ground as I find a place to put them.

"Lucky for me, its just my duster and fedora. I actually am starting to doubt that they are my real parents."

"Oh. Why do you doubt that?"

[zak_hunter]

I laugh and play with my wallet in my pocket.

"I found adoption papers with my baby photo's. Looking closer i realized that they were mine. Apparently, no one wanted me in this universe."

[vicioussweetie]

"If you were adopted, that means that your parents want you very much!" She frowns for a moment, then calms her expression. "You're very lucky."

[zak_hunter]

I smirk and look at her.

"Guess your right. So how have you been?"

"I've been well. Really well."

[zak_hunter]

I smirk and put my wallet back in my pocket. I make sure my gun is secure in its holster and smile back up at her.

"That is very good to hear. I'll be sure to tell Xen that you say hi when I get home. He was doing some research on a case from a few weeks ago."

"Oh, thank you. Isn't he listening tonight?"

[zak_hunter]

I smirked and pointed to my ear.

"Sadly he was a bit too busy tonight. Besides, my parents don't know about the whole Vigilante aspect of my career so they don't know about him."

"Ah..."

[zak_hunter]

I look at her, I can tell she looks a little dissapointed.

"He's lucky he got the teleporter fixed. You should have seen the damage."

[vicioussweetie]

"Oh? What happened?"

[zak_hunter]

I laughed thinking about hearing that explosion in the first place.

"Xen somehow found his way here. He left major damage in the lab."
