Froggy

I lost my voice.  Very suddenly!  I woke up this morning with a sore throat and by midday was sounding very froggy, and now my voice is pretty much gone.  Early stages of a cold?  Unclear.  Work has been stressful this week due to one very time-consuming thing I have to file this Friday... it would have dominated my week under any normal circumstances, but then a Second Stressful Thing popped up yesterday morning that also requires filing something this Friday (or actually, nine somethings because there are so many moving parts).  My colleagues were leaving early for the holiday weekend so I said I'd take of everything, but that turned out to be way more than I thought.  Anyway, the point is: I'd totally stay home and rest my voice if it weren't for these two non-negotiable things I have to file in two different courts tomorrow.  :(  At least once they're filed I'll be able to relax over the weekend.

I will say that the one good thing about staying at work until it's dark out is that I get to see fireflies on my walk home from the Metro.  :)  I saw my first fireflies of the season tonight.  I still get a kick out of fireflies, since we don't have them in Seattle.  They're such a novelty.

Question... Has anyone given up having a TV?  We have cable TV right now, but due to months upon months of ongoing problems with the internet connection, we're giving up on the service provider entirely and are going to switch over to a different company.  But we've been debating only getting internet and not cable... We can't watch any TV unless we have cable -- normal reception doesn't exist at all for us.  I don't think we really watch that much TV, and a lot of the shows are available online... But on a night like this one, when I'm getting home really late from work and have a headache and just need to relax, I will admit I really do like just sitting on the couch for a half hour or so and catching up on whatever I have on the DVR, or catching some awesome old movie from the 80s.  There's a part of me that's a little reluctant to give that up...  But when we didn't have cable TV OR internet for a month when I got back from my trial, we totally adjusted.  Well, to not having TV -- internet is of course as essential as electricity.  Should we give up the cable???
