the long and winding road
Phew. Hello again, poor, neglected flist. I hope you have all pined for me as I have for you.
Becuase I am quite sure that recounting my adventures are not half so interesting to those of you who were not there, I present...
I believe my last update mentioned the family trip to New Roads, LA? Much familial fun was had by all, and I now appear to be the proud owner of a nightshirt bearing the motto 'chick with brains' and featuring the image of a baby chicken sporting spectacles and rather alarming eyelashes. Intriguing... It was wonderful to see my family again, and we realised at the pig roast that we had all of the girl cousins together for the first time since a family wedding in 1997. Shocking, I know. We were all pleased to be rectifying the situation at last. ;) I also was able to meet Sister and Hayden's cat, Petra, who unfortunately failed quite spectacularly to get along with our family cat, Zephyr Ophelia Cat. Many card games were had, much alcohol was consumed (some of it without Signed Permission Slips, I might add), and walks along the levee were taken in due course. But the fun didn't stop in New Roads, oh no... Aunt Susan and blueeyedgroupie came along to our house for a night, which is always a delight. :)
The next morning, however, it was off with ember_ashes to Dallas, home of our friend Fo (not her real name as such, but her nickname as necessitated by a circle of friends all named variations of 'Jennifer'). Good times were had, still more alcohol was consumed, and such extravagance has rarely been seen in the life of one E.C. Townsend. I also can term myself the victor of a game of Trivial Pursuit and a round of Cranium, so, Behold my board game skills!! Tremble!!!
