(no subject)
My laptop is worrying me. Ever since I got back yesterday afternoon, it has been finicky in a very odd way. I'll open a program, and it seems to be running... But suddenly, I can't actually click on ANYTHING with any luck. Or rather, with any effect. It gets fixated on one action- I tried to run Spybot this morning, for example, and all seemed well- until it reached the end of the scan. I scrolled through the found problems, and then was unable to do ANYTHING for five minutes. If my cursor was within the program window, it would scroll the list up and down, whether or not I was clicking. If I opened the task manager, it complied, and then did the same thing. It wasn't until several minutes later that the task manager registered anything I was actually doing. When it did, I was able to go back to Spybot, click to Fix the problems, and exit the program.
EVERY PROGRAM I RUN DOES THIS. It will work great, until suddenly, it stops, and I have to wait until it acknowledges me. It's not like any freeze or crash I've ever seen- I can see everything running in the task manager fine, even when the TM itself won't acknowlegde me. Has anyone ever encountered this before? I can't use it like this, which means I've wasted a morning I needed to work in.
