THE PLAN:
Come down to Staunton for a night. See 'The Alchemist.' Watch some rehearsal. Interview one of the actors for the Thesis of Doom. Maybe take in the matinee of Twelfth Night before heading home Saturday.
THE REALITY:
LOLZ STUCK HERE FOR ANOTHER NIGHT.
The snow isn't even THAT BAD- except that the city isn't handling it that well. They only just started plowing and clearing out the hotel parking lot, which, REALLY? Argh. I am happy to admit that I am a great big snow weenie- I'm from Louisiana, folks, I DON'T UNDERSTAND SNOW- and when I watched local weather reports this morning, it was pretty clear that even if I COULD drive back to DC today, I didn't want to.
AH WELL.
I spent the morning using the workout room (I planned ahead this time!) and have been watching more ANTM reruns than is probably healthy. The hotel has had to scramble in amusing ways to try and make sure the (very few) guests here don't starve- they made 20 sandwiches and stuck them in an open meeting room, since their restaurant isn't open and no one is delivering in the snow. I think it's time to try and get some work done- I'm frustrated that I don't have more with me to work on, but there are things I can do. AH, SNOW DAY. Why couldn't you have come ONE DAY LATER?
snowmageddon,
some cheese with that wine?
