New job with Gibson:
I got a call from Aljon Go (the Gibson rep) almost 3 months ago. He asked if I was still interested in having a better job, then asked if I wanted his position. I was in shock, and answered “uh....yes” a little half heartedly heh. Called up his boss, David Bernett, the next day. The next two months were spent interviewing with him and a few other people, and then just PAINFUL waiting. Near the end, I was basically assured the job unofficially, but still had to wait for the hiring manager to approve it. That was torture, especially since time was running out on looking for a new place to live.

I finally got the word 2 weeks ago. My heart and spirit were elevated to a whole new level. Since then, I feel like a great blackness has been lifted from my heart. I've been very stagnant in that aspect of my life...while in the last few years I've accomplished a lot of things that have made my life better...focusing more on better friends, moving out, being able to smile again, just being a happier person...my job has constantly dragged me back down. I won't get into too much negativity, but unfortunately Ash is not a healthy workplace for go getters. They focus too much on keeping the status quo...instead of promoting hard workers that can shape the future of the company, they continue to pay outlandish salaries to do-nothing managers that drag the company at every turn. Conversely, the competition, Guitar Center, is the opposite...they love promoting...yet they have no sense of keeping the good people happy, and fire/demote just as often.

I look forward to working for a company that recognizes hard work, and excellence; THAT is a motivating factor to someone like me, not keeping my sales up.

As for what my job entails...well, I am a “Product Specialist.” I will travel to stores, and get them excited about Gibson products. Florida will be my main route, but since I am bilingual they will be shooting me over to south Cali and Texas, maybe even Mexico. I will be traveling M-Thu most weeks, and when theres a weekend event to work, I'll be off other days during the week.

More money, traveling, fresh opportunity...what's not to like?

New home!
Carlos told me a few weeks/months ago that he would not be renewing the lease. At first I figured I'd try to stay here, but I couldn't find anyone that could afford the rent, that I would want to live with. So then the world of moving anywhere opened up. When the job potential opened up, I got to thinking...you know what, I've ALWAYS wanted to live in Plantation, why not? I don't really have any other area I'd like to live in.

I am going to be moving to Lakepointe At Jacaranda. It's a cute little quiet community off University. I'm going to be paying almost $300 less than we do here, for a 2Be2Ba with MORE space. HELL YEA. No roommate for now, but there's always that possibility.

Mom
My poor mom. She started her 4th (I think) battle with cancer recently. And if that weren't enough, she developed a severe pain in her leg to where she couldn't walk. Spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital, before they figured out that it was a fracture on the back of her pelvis. She had to have surgery so they could install some titanium rods and a plate. She spent a week or so recovering at a therapy hospital, and is now back home. She is doing much better, and looks way better as well. My uncle was down the last few weeks, to help with this. Also to help with a surgery my grandma had to do...she had a stent installed in one of her arteries.

Phone issues
My phone has been messed up for a while. The earpiece was distorting at all volumes, so I couldn't really make any phone calls. In fact, when I found out I had to be calling gibson for interviews I went out and got a bluetooth...something I never thought I'd do. I called up Tmobile finally, to see if it was under warranty. First lady I talked to was no help. Called the next day, explained my situation, and the lady sent me a replacement. I got the replacement a few days later. Worked!

Or so I thought. I noticed people were having trouble hearing me, that it was cutting out. I figured maybe I was just having bad reception, but after a few days of this, and after trying it out in different places, I came to realize the phone was broken...the microphone was, anyway. Called up Tmobile. First guy was not only NO help, he was a complete fucking moron, misreading their policy. Called again and spoke with a supervisor. Spent an hour with tech support to make sure it was the phone and not my service. Went to the store to change my Sim card (it was old, so she said that could be the issue), no luck. They overnighted me another one, no charge.

SO FAR, it works. Lol.
