06/27 Mon
My first 'official' day at work, although all that I did was have a conference call in the morning with Tarantula Burton to go over my new work information.

06/28 Tue
Flew out to Nashville early in the morning. Got there at 10ish Nash time. Got my rental car and went to the hotel...no rooms til 2. So I started driving around. Went to the north side of the J Percy Priest Reservoir. Then decided to go to the Zoo. By the time I got there though, I realized I would have had a little over an hour before I had to be at Gibson Central to pickup my laptop, so I decided against it.

Instead, I went to the Radnor Lake Natural Area and Wildlife Refuge. It was awesome! Just the drive into it was great, lots of trees and nature sounds. Hiked around a little bit...saw a real natural deer in the middle of the trail. Left, went to Krystal Burger, then Gibson. Met Josh there, got my laptop. Back to hotel.

Ended up driving up to see the Grand Ole Opry. The Gaylord Opryland Resort....my god. That place was amazing, I could live in there. I felt like I was inside Castle in the Sky.

Training Training Training! Met up with Josh (Chicago DPS), David (my boss), and Genta (Japan DPS) in the lobby, and went to Gibson. Spent most of the day in an office upstairs listening to presentations about their current line, about the Firebird X, etc. Did a factory tour after lunch. Stayed there til about 630 going over expense reports.

Thu we met early, then went to Custom Shop, did a tour, then went to Epiphone/Kramer. Had dinner afterwards at Darfons, Aljon came by. Fri we woke up early again, went over to Gibson Gear to get our photos taken, then went to the GC to look around, then a few last minute things.

Lots of training..it was non stop, from like 9 in the morning til about 7 or 8 at night. Lots of overwhelming information! Friday I got to the airport only to find out my flight had been delayed. Wonderful!

I started working my actual job on the 5th. Went to the Guitar Center in Hallandale. Interesting day...I totally forgot about half the things I needed to do. But so far it's been going well. It's almost like starting a brand new job every day, because every location is very different...some are very supportive of me and what I do, some just don't care. Some stores have a good mix of both of those mentalities. And I definitely cannot do my job the same way at every location. But that suits me, I like being able to tailor my activities based on what is needed.

The whole "getting used to this new, hectic job" thing is going a lot harder than it should, because of the whole "i'm moving at the end of this week" thing. I haven't really have the proper time to immerse myself in my work (and more importantly, catch up on all the training I need to brush up on), nor have I been able to take my time in packing and shopping for certain items (bed, tables, etc). It's a shame...but such is life. I am dealing with it the best I can =]

(and thanks to Denise for being a great help in packing!)
