Now that's more like it!
First off, I'm guessing you don't put David Anders into your cast without him being... somebody significant, down the road. I didn't miss him in the fairy tale half of the show, did I? Perhaps the implication with his opening scene is that he's the Big Bad Wolf.
... Doctor Big Bad Wolf?
Hang on, what was his name?
*checks imdb* Dr. Whale? Weird.
I think it's pretty evident by the Sheriff's general non-evilness that he's the sympathetic huntsman from the Snow White story. Which is good, because, well, I'm kinda starting to get a crush on him.
Anywho.
Not only did the fairy tale half of this episode feel far less hackneyed than its predecessors, it was really enjoyable. Impish thief!Snow White, I love her!!! And despite his off-putting haircut, Prince Charming grew one me hugely with the following bit of dialogue:
"Oh, yes, how dare I cast aspersions on the person who robbed me?"
(I might not not have gotten it exactly, but the main point is the use of the word 'aspersions' which, let's face it, is a really sexy word).
I should have also mentioned last week that the scene in the pilot of him holding his baby and sword-fighting one-handed through monsters to get her to safety (in one of those loose white 'prince' shirts) was pretty awesome.
Also, they spat and flirted and rescued each other. And then in the "real" world, she kissed him and woke him up! Count me sold!
I also think Miss Blanchard has become a Believer, even if she's not ready to even begin acknowledging it yet.
Definitely a good Monday lunch hour pastime. :-)
