Today was eventful, surprisingly. This morning I had a Rotary meeting to go to. I spoke a little bit about my year in Taiwan and we got to listen to a couple give a presentation on the health work they do in Honduras. I was working on 4 hours of sleep, but had fun regardless. I just found out all the books I'll be needing for my college classes this year. To this I have to say THANK YOU to Dollars for Scholars, but I'm still coming up short by a little bit. My text books cost about $245 all together. I only have $204 in my bank account, and only about $190 is scholarship money. I did get quite a bit from Dollars for ( Read more... )

I went dorm shopping today and got a bunch of stuff taken care of. I bought fabric to make curtains, a mirror, binders/notebooks/all that other fun stuff, and some other little things. 48 hours until my parents arrive. Luckily I have been able to keep myself amused these last few days. Sunday I went to Shilin Night Market with Whitney. My school is beautiful. It's old, but the grounds are well maintained and it has a bunch of gorgeous trees in a small courtyard outside the library and lining the walkway in main parking lot.

AND THE SCHOOL IS CHOPPING THEM ALL DOWN. D:I don't see what is to be gained from this, other than making your courtyard consist of a buncha ugly stumps, or ( Read more... )
