Chapter 22 “Tuition didn’t work out?” Soohyun asked, slightly surprised by Kibum’s appearance.
Kibum blinked, looking at Kevin for more information, but Soohyun cut in before Kevin could give an apologetic look.
“Oh, I know! The tuition teacher isn’t as good as Kevin!” Soohyun laughed, nudging Dongho. “See, Kevin’s the best. He’ll help you well.”
“Mm!” Dongho nodded, hooking arms with Kevin instantly. “Oh, you’re Kim Kibum-ssi, yeah?”
Kibum eyed the student he hadn’t seen before, gauging his size before remembering the question asked. “Yeah, that’s me.”
“I’m Shin Dongho, high school second year.” Dongho proudly stated.
“Oh, okay. Hello.” Kibum awkwardly replied, before realising his usual seat beside Kevin is now taken by Dongho. “Um, where do I sit?”
“Opposite me.” Kevin gestured as he checked Soohyun’s homework, while Dongho looked pleased with Kibum’s reply.
“Can I call you Kibum-hyung?” Dongho grinned, and the other two immediately knew that Dongho liked this man already.
Kibum looked curiously at Dongho, before shrugging slightly. “Well, if you want to-”
“I want to!” Dongho enthusiastically beamed.
“-then all right.” Kibum blinked, stunned by Dongho’s enthusiasm.
“He’s like that.” Kevin kindly explained, eyes looking somewhere else. “If he likes you, he’ll call you affectionately instantly.”
Kibum nodded, showing that he understood. He still didn’t really know how he should talk to Kevin, because the younger was seemingly trying to build a wall between them two. Kevin averted his eyes as much as it is possible. “Okay.”
Dongho looked queerly at Kevin and Kibum, nudging Soohyun by reaching his arm out behind Kevin, who was unfortunately just as clueless.

“Are you interested?” The man, who introduced himself as Joonwon, nervously fidgeted in his seat.
Kiseop stared at the menu in awe, everything he had thought of! Only that it was put into pretty pictures and descriptive words he couldn’t come up with to save his life. “This is great! Are you really letting me in on this?”
“Yeah!” Joonwon replied happily. “I was actually worried because this is my first time doing this sort of thing. I don’t know who to find to help out at the store, and since you have some experience with food, I think it’d be great if you could work with me.”
Kiseop bit his lower lip, remembering he was actually in the school for another job. “But what about working in the cafeteria?”
“Oh, I talked to the principal already. He’d get the cafeteria to hire someone to take your place. I would really need someone who has a similar passion for these sort of things, you see.” Joonwon continued, drumming his fingers nervously against the table. “So…?”
“I’m in! All in!” Kiseop grinned brightly, raising his hand for a friendly handshake.
Joonwon beamed, shaking Kiseop’s hand with too much excitement. But neither seemed to mind.

Alexander wondered how he should disappear so that the annoying MrSoccer would stop frustrating him. He already conjured up a really sweet image so it’d be dumb to ruin it all by asking him to get lost.
Besides, it’s pretty good to be able to level up without doing much.
If only MrSoccer was the more gossipy type, maybe Alexander would like him better.
Then instead of talking about what kinds of monsters to kill and what quests to do, they can talk about that bitchy girl in Literature class that flirts with the old married teachers in school.
Yeah, that’d be fun.
But MrSoccer was the sort of down-to-Earth kind of person. Boring, mundane, ordinary, a far cry from what a soccer player in the school team should be like.
Should Alexander go find out who this MrSoccer really is?
Actually…wouldn’t that be kind of really fun?
“What are you thinking about?!” A girl from Alexander’s usual clique yelled into his ear, laughing wildly when the latter jumped in surprise. “So deep in thoughts?”
“Ah, just, thinking about some evil plans.” Alexander shrugged, wondering idly if he should really get on his job.
Afterall, if Alexander sets his mind to searching, nothing escapes his eyes.

“Good afternoon, Lee Kiseop-ssi!” Dongho chirped brightly, entering the cafeteria with Soohyun by his side. “Why are you out here?”
“Afternoon, Dongho!” Kiseop gave a big smile in return, easily dropping the formalities since he liked being on friendly terms with everyone. “And hello, Soohyun! You both are meeting outside of study buddy session with Kevin?”
“No, we are just eating. Kevin doesn’t have sessions during lunch.” Soohyun piped in, taking a seat next to Dongho. Both of them looked quite brotherly together, Kiseop thought, remembering he first knew Dongho because he was chasing after Soohyun for his already-paid lunch money. Giggling at that thought, he forgot the two who were now staring weirdly at him.
“Anyway.” Dongho poked the cafeteria worker, bringing the ditzy guy back to Earth. “Why aren't you inside taking orders?”
“Oh! I'm changing jobs!” Kiseop grinned happily, eager to show off his new menu. “I-”
“No!” Dongho interjected with a loud cry. “I like you! Don't leave!”
Kiseop blinked at the sudden outburst, going through his head once more what was going on.
“Oh...” Kiseop muttered, furthering his thoughts as he rubbed temples with his fingers as if casting a spell. “Mm-hmm, yes. That is right..but...oh!”
Both men opposite Kiseop watched as he went through his entire thinking process out loud. Soohyun scratched his head, thinking that Kiseop looked much smarter than he actually is.
“I'm not switching jobs! No! I am! But I will work here except that I'm now selling pastries and tea! You know those fancy cute things? Like a cafe?” Kiseop smiled brightly, suddenly introducing the menu that was still in progress. “We are still confirming the various pastries and tea we are adding, and thinking of pretty designs for the menu, and of course the construction since it's supposed to be in the middle of the canteen...”
He trailed off, as if following up with yet another irrelevant thought.
“Oh, wait! Maybe it was a secret!”
Dongho blinked, and Soohyun sighed, both reassuring they will keep this (useless) secret from everyone else. With that, the older guy of them three ran away cuddling the menu tightly, waving them goodbye as an afterthought.
“He’s really something.” Soohyun commented, then deciding his lunch was more important than the discussion of this weird cafeteria worker.
Dongho giggled, chewing onto his meal happily while stealing bits from the man beside him. “But he’s kind. His family has been kind for generations. His grandfather set up the charity downtown for orphans.”
“Yeah.” Soohyun nodded, already accustomed to Dongho’s way of introducing other people’s ancestors into their daily conversation. “I bet he’s really kind, because anyone that simple to read can’t be anything bad.”
Watching Kiseop skip off without minding the weird looks he was getting, Dongho agreed, flipping to Kiseop’s page in his notebook. “Maybe the generations to come will also be really kind!”
