I've become really good at shoveling the driveway these days. 7 inches of snow today, and 7 last Friday. I would love this if I were eight years old again!

One thing going wrong in the morning can kind of throw your whole day off. After much self-convincing I went to the gym before work today, except that halfway there I realized I'd forgotten my phone. Went to see No Country for Old Men tonight (intense flick). On the way home, the temp was -21 according to the bank I was passing. I think that may be a new low for the season. Send warm thoughts, please!

Yesterday morning as I was driving to work it was -17°F. No joke. I was surprised and thankful that my poor little car managed to produce some heat for me.

I'm so proud of myself for getting several scrapbook pages done over the weekend. I now have a tentative goal of getting my vacation book done by the time we meet Mom and Dean for dinner on Saturday. I was fifteen minutes late to work this morning, and although part of it was Jonas' fault (when it's time to go I am always waiting for him to finish getting ready), the traffic on Hwy. 212 was just terrible -- and just like last week (also Tuesday, in fact) I don't understand why. I really love this winter so far!! Finally, it feels like a "real" winter, like what winters seemed like when I was a kid -- huge snowdrifts, big enough to build tunnels and snow fortss in. It's been snowing for almost 24 hours now, and I'd say it was beautiful if I didn't nearly put myself in the ditch this morning on the way to work. That was the first time I have ever been that close to getting into some kind of accident. Or is it even an "accident" if you just go in the ditch? If you have to be towed out, I guess it must be.
