After a couple of weeks of uncertainty and constant changes of plan, it came as quite a relief when they finally decided to start the school holidays early and close all sports facilities.

We seem to have unexpectedly arrived at Christmas.

At this point it is clear that our regular camping trips are at least as much about me taking a mental break as they are about giving the kids the outdoor experience.

We went away for 3 nights, staying in a cabin at the Marysville caravan park. The kids are quite exhausted now, but seemed to have a lot of fun.
