October showers bring November flowers
Just a moment of peace, a lull before our Thanksgiving meal commences. These are oxeye daisies, which I've never seen blooming in late November, or much after May for that matter. We've had a few frosts, including last night, but the sunny days are warm. Right now, at twilight, there are crickets singing and a few small birds whistling.

I know that I am like the rain / There but for the grace of you
I drove a long way today, much of the time through torrential rain. When it wasn't pouring, though, I could see that the roadsides are full of asters, Canada goldenrod, a few wild sunflowers, and the last of the gaura, and the riverbottom fields and the road edges are covered in bitterweed.
