Just a moment of peace, a lull before our Thanksgiving meal commences. These are oxeye daisies, which I've never seen blooming in late November, or much after May for that matter. We've had a few
frosts, including last night, but the sunny days are warm. Right now, at twilight, there are crickets singing and a few small birds whistling.

And so I don't forget... maple whipped sweet potatoes: boil and peel several sweet potatoes, put in a food processor with a stick of butter, 1/4 cup maple syrup, and a handful of brown sugar; process until whipped very smooth. Transfer to a baking dish, top with pecan halves and drizzle with maple syrup, and bake until heated through.
