So that feeling of being slightly off I've had for the last two weeks? Turns out it was a lovely flu-like bug I was apparently holding off through sheer willpower and denial. I guess I no longer had any reason to keep myself from getting sick so it struck. Perfect timing. I was supposed to be at the county fair with my family this evening. This may be a blessing in disguise, but it sure is a good disguise.
I mean, this is a disguise so good it should be in Transformers. Like a Robot blessing. You could go be religious and get blessed by a robot, but you couldn't see him because he'd be disguised, so he'd be like a ninja robot, but then Robin Hood and the evil Sheriff of Bristol would come and you'd never get to ride the ferris wheel. Is that where the word came from? Fair -> ferris? Fairris? Or just a Mr. Ferris who had a serendipitous profession?
So the plan now is to try again tomorrow because Abigail has her heart set on it and I don't mind the fair, just the company when you throw in a sinus headache and a pocket full of tissues. I think I hope I get better. I have tea brewing. Tea solves everything, especially disorders of the body
and the TARDIS. I'm typing with six fingers. Well, I was earlier. Well, I mean it can be done on this keyboard, which is not to say that I have six fingers. Well I do, but not like on one hand or total or anything. What was that trick you do where you count fingers and fudge the math so you make it seem like there are eleven?
BSFFA needs to put on 'A Shoggoth On The Roof'. I saw a libretto at Gencon and it must be done. We have the people and the interest I think.
I wonder if Lovecraft monsters had anything to do with the rise of the modern goth? Goth? Shoggoth? The mind boggles. Well, I guess that's the whole point if you're talking about Lovecraft, but still. What if you lost SAN points every time you saw a goth? Especially the really happy, perky ones? They're like banality frogs! Quick, no one start singing mozart.
I think it's time for a nap. Things around me are starting to make less sense, unless my dad talking to my sister about saucers and fractional cats (I think I might have misinterperted that part of the conversation) is stranger/more normal than I thought. I'm not sure which.
