Happy 4th of July!
This has been a good weekend so far. LeeAnne and James were in Cleveland visiting, so Robert and I drove up on Saturday and met them at the GoodTime ship and did a little 2 hour cruise. It was great to see her again and to finally meet James, who was actually very nice and lot better than the vision I had of him when they first started to date! Robert and him seemed to hit it off pretty well with all of their common interests. I'm still not a huge boat person... they tend to make me nauseous, but the river and lake were pretty gentle. Robert wanted to see some submarine nearby but alas, it closed right before we got off the boat. We also went to McDonalds for lunch beforehand on the Turnpike, and I was going to get a tasty iced coffee but they were out of ice!! It was like the time Alyssa and I called Dominos and they were out of cheese... I mean, how does that happen??
Yesterday I let Robert take me to see Transformers 3... I really do try to like these movies. I think the action is spectacular and the story has potential, but they way they execute it is just meh. Shia LeBeouf is ok, but he really needs to dial back on the goofiness. Plus, how does a weird guy like him keep getting hot chicks anyway? :P
I am in lab for about half a day today to run a gel. I'm hoping to get out of here by 1, but I think it's going to be closer to 1:30... can't be too late, I didn't bring any lunch! I did bring a book to sneak out into the hall to read, however. No one else is here yet, hopefully Sandro and GJ won't show up after all. I don't know if Robert and I are going to see any fireworks today or not, we'll see. However, I do know that we are going to grill out, yum!! :)
