So, I have a job.
There's this place called Byler's Market not far from where I live. It sells mostly produce and dry goods and has a cement floor and I went in today to get an application, but they had me fill it out right at the counter and then called the lady who runs the deli out to talk to me because the deli was the only place they needed help, and she said she'd have someone call if they needed me. This was...about eleven this morning.
At about 1:45, the store manager called and asked me to come in tomorrow morning at eight to start work.
SO THAT WAS FAST.
It's pretty gloomy in there and it's excruciatingly face-paced work, but I can deal with that for money. The part that bothers me is that all female employees are required to wear skirts or dresses. First of all, this strikes me as...somewhat creepy, almost? And second, it's inconvenient for me. I have three skirts and two dresses, and only one of the skirts is appropriate for work there. Maybe one of the others if I dress it down. I'll have to check. Anyway, yeah, that's really weird and I don't know if I'm comfortable with it, BUT MONEY, which I need, so I'm not complaining too much.
So yeah! Go me. Wish me luck. =/
