The weekend before Origins is an interesting, busy time it seems. Over the past two days, I have had many conversations regarding my LARP character. Some of the conversations have been regarding current plots, conceptual directions, and remembering stories. Out of character conversations included arrangements for meeting at the show, who was coming, who is not able to make it and who is picking whom up at the airport.
Last night, I began compiling my playlist for Origins. Some of the music was indicative of when the character actually started. Other tracks refer to a more current state of mind.
It has made me realize how long I have been part of this hobby, how much creativity has gone into my 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper and how many wonderful people I have met in the time I have played. It is this last point that is the most important part of the hobby. Going to event games for me is like a family reunion. You see people you care for and, drama and all, it is made all the more special knowing you don't get to see each other as often as you would like.
Thanks to you all.
