Yes, I know dear reader, I have been quite silent in the past few weeks. Actually, life has been pretty chaotic and mundane at the same time. I am not really certain how to describe it any better.
Over the past two weeks, I have been busy with real life. The Urchin was down of the 4th of July weekend. Much fun and Magic was had by all. He is now into the original cardboard crack and that means I am getting back into it as well. I am still learning the new cards by playing the pre-made decks, but I am amazed by how much is still the same.
Last weekend was supposed to be a weekend of scanning negatives. That didn't happen due to chaos on Friday. I was supposed to bring home a flatbed scanner from work. However, due to randomness at work, I left the office without it. Then
aroundtehcorner and I were going to try to shoot the Goodguys Car Show. Rain, heat and humidity conspired against us and we just hung out watching bad movies.
I have started digging around online to find photoshop tutorials. There are several techniques I wish to perfect. The most interesting one is the HDR technique. I will need to up the RAM in my little laptop in order to load CS3 to do it, but wow it is a cool technique. I have CS3 at work, so I can shoot a few locations this weekend and practice next week.
I have gotten more involved with game again than I thought I would, but it has been fantastic. I met some wonderful people at Origins that I knew of, but never actually met. It has taken my piece of paper down a new and interesting direction. It has become a much-needed creative outlet. Now it's just a question of seeing how it goes. I am planning to make the Aug. 2 game in Cleveland. Also on my agenda is Conclave in November. I am already beginning to budget for that trip woot!
Things with
liquidleezard are still about the same. Just getting through one day at a time. He is working more on his art and is on an imp kick. I am eager to see how the piece turns out. It is good to see him working on art again.
So, dear reader, that is the basics of my existence at this point. Real exciting I know, but there ya have it.
Later!
