Today is a wonderful day!

Today started out filled with aggravation at the stupidity of Intel and Sony. Consistency is not the hallmark of the computer industry, no matter what Bill Gates says.

But since I got home my day has gotten decidedly better. I have had some wonderful conversations with some dear friends. The what of the conversations really doesn't matter. The feeling is what matters. The feeling of people who, no matter the distance or the chaos of life, are happy to hear from you, are looking forward to seeing you and who genuinely want you to be happy and take such palatable joy in your happiness.

In talking to the Urchin this evening, I found out that his open enrollment back to his school had been denied due to grades. The upside is he will be going to a school with a more lax academic standards but an even more involved music program. He is intending to use this to his advantage. He is determined to ace his classes and use the music program to his advantage. Rather than this failure crushing him, it is inspiring him. He is using the change of scenery as an opportunity and I am so proud of him for that.

I was reminded by someone who knows me better than I know myself some days that the phrase that I cling to more than most is "We will figure it out." I am happy to see the Urchin is following that path. He will make the best out of a situation and find the opportunity in the worst situation.

I see some of these wonderful people in less than a week.

And I just can't wait!
