I always feel a bit forlorn after finishing a knitting project. It's like I'm missing a piece of myself.

As you may have guessed, I finished the shawl I started at ClickerExpo a couple weeks ago. I'd better hit the yarn store and pick up the yarn for my next project ASAP. ;)

I've been trying to take better care of myself lately. Here is a list of things I've been doing:

Yoga. I'm signed up for a 3-day-a-week lunchtime yoga class. I've had to miss quite a few due to meetings or being sick, but I love this class. I love how much less tense I feel. It's also inspired me to do more stretching after exercise, which has led ( Read more... )

transversely started grad school last month, so we've switched roles and now I'm the one doing almost all of the cooking while he holes up and reads theory like crazy. ;) I've been inspired to dig up old recipes that we like but haven't cooked in a while. • I'm apprenticing with a local dog training place. I'm sitting in on two classes on Saturdays and two on Thursday evenings. I just went to my first Saturday classes, both of which are puppy classes. These socks are decidedly not ugly. Same pattern as my Ugly Socks, and same size needles, since my socks came out baggy for me but perfect (in diameter) for transversely's bigger feet and ankles. I'm knitting the foot a bit longer to fit his enormous feet.

I've just started knitting this sweater for transversely, only in bright red merino/microfiber blend with a bright blue stripe. (Yes, pinkpeppercorns, I know it's drop-shoulder, but somehow I don't mind it on this pattern.)

It's my first sweater project ever, so wish me luck. So far it's super-easy, but we'll see what happens when I get to the collar and sleeves. ;)

I just have to crow for a moment about the coolest Christmas present, which holdenrevisited made for me. It's a knitting needle holder in the most fantasic flowery and stripey fabrics, and last night I finally got off my butt and put all of my needles in it. It is so cool!
