This is [Chief medical officer] Dr. Leonard McCoy.
I'm sure the lot of you have noticed the earthquakes. Now, they're relatively minor, but that doesn't mean they're entirely harmless. I'm a doctor, not a seismologist, but these things don't tend to be isolated incidents from what I understand. So everyone should be careful, make sure large objects are secure, and that their homes are structurally sound.
[A pause and he frowns. There's a rather serious expression on his face over this.]
If anyone does find themselves injured or in need of medical assistance, contact me. We'll arrange to have you helped to the clinic. [By "we" he likely means Jan and her patrols] And we'll see about patching you up. Unless your injury is incredibly minor, don't try to drag yourself here alone. Get a friend. There's nothing stupider than pushing yourself to pass out in between where someone could actually know to look for you and the clinic where you could actually get help.
Janice, if you're listening to this, give me a heads up if you do come across anyone injured. Any details you can get would be extremely helpful. Level of responsiveness, pain on a scale from 1-10, any existing medical conditions.
If you need the clinic, I trust most of you have some idea of where it is, but just in case. [He pushes a few buttons and a small hand-drawn map takes the place of his face for a moment.] Got it? Great.
Try not to get yourselves killed, please. I don't have any body bags available.
[A pause.] Spock? I need a word with you.
[McCoy hesitates for a moment, as though running through a mental list. But no, he thinks that's all he has to say.]
McCoy out.
