Just next to Durness is Balnakeil, which boasts a gorgeous beach and a puffin colony in the cliffs.

I'd never been to the north of Scotland, and it was fantastic. You really felt like there was fresh air and distance between you and the next person. Isolation is good sometimes!!

Skye was a bit surreal - we didn't have much time there, and the air was so hazy everywhere. Quite weird.

Glen Coe was actually a huge disappointment. The mountains were groovy, but the whole place was very touristy. Plus we had a TERRIBLE experience with the ppl we rented accommodation from, so I actually don't want to think much about my time there ( Read more... )

Stirling was a lovely little town, crawling up the hill towards the castle. I was pleasantly surprised (I'm usually a diehard fan of the Highlands).
