Admittedly, I’m a bit of a food snob. I like my eggs, chicken, beef, and pork from the farm down the road (all natural and pastured, thank you very much) and we make a lot of our meals from scratch. Many of our veggies (and some fruits) come from the backyard or a different local farm up the road.

Yesterday I mentioned the cheeses I got - today I will tell you how they were, in my less-than-gustatorily-educated opinion.

Manchego (from La Mancha) - I've had this before, but a different brand. It's a sheep's milk cheese, and may or may not make it to the potluck on Friday since it was at my spouse's request. Why no one has decided to sell a variety called "Don Quixote" ("Don Cheese-xote"?) is beyond me.

For the past two summers, we've frozen blackberries grown in our own backyard -- I grabbed the last two bags from 2010 a few days ago and thawed them. Last night I turned them into jelly.
