The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search
The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search's two-hour finale overlapped with Conviction's two-hour finale, and I knew I would want Conviction on tape, but I couldn't bear to wait until tomorrow to watch it, so I watched the first hour of The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search's finale and then both watched and taped Conviction's finale. This is a long explanation to basically say that I'll be catching the last episode of The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search tomorrow afternoon, so don't tell me who wins!

Lil and Jacqui have a conversation about the girls, and it totally made me want some Lil/Jacqui. Something where they've been together forever. The men come and go, but they're always there for each other. Jacqui would have to have a daughter, older, who has troubles, and Lil's there to support Jacqui through it all. It's Lil's bar, and Lil's company, but she depends on Jacqui, for choreography and support and partnership. (I just did my research, and Lil's married to a man, so it would have to be an AU.)

Conviction
The first hour is the setup, wherein the whole team works on one case. The second hour is the hostage situation that results from that one case. Brian tells Christina that he won't let anything happen to her and then, later, that they're not going to die. Even the smart villain picks up on what I've been seeing all season and holds a gun to Christina's head to get Brian to do what he wants.

At the end, when the remaining villain is trying to figure out what to do, Brian tries to convince him to let him go out to negotiate with the police on his behalf. When the guy wants to know how he knows Brian will come back, he says, "These people are my friends," and gestures at Jessica and Nick, "and I," and he turns to Christina. And then he says, looking straight at Christina while he talks to the villain, "I'm in love with her." We get a shot of Nick's eyebrows going up and Jessica just looking at them. And then we get a moment of Brian and Christina where he says, "In case things go badly, I want you to know," and tells her, "You don't have to respond," and then he kisses her cheek.

After everyone is safe, we see Jessica and Jim hugging, Christina leaning into Brian and crying, and Nick (he's the one who looks good in a dress) and Billy (J. August Richards) standing together.

In the last scene, they're all at a bar together. Billy makes a toast and Jim almost says he loves Jessica. And then Christina gets up and walks around Jim and Jessica to Brian. She sets down her drink, and she and Brian are just kind of smiling at each other, and then he stands up and says, "C'mere," and they just hold each other. And then it fades to black.

*happysigh* You should have seen me waving my hands around in joy. All season I've been thinking, "They should have an episode where Brian and Christina get stuck in an elevator with a criminal of some sort, and that's how they get together." A hostage situation is equally good.

I promptly had to rewatch the last ten minutes, which made me very glad I'd taped it.

TVShowsOnDVD.com says it'll be out on DVD on August 22.

Close To Home
I neither watched nor taped the season finale of Close To Home, but I did go find myself some spoilers to see if I was right. They killed off Christian Kane's character, which is both what I thought they would do and awesome. This means I will no longer be tempted to watch the damn show.
