NO BEANS, NO GLORY. In the heart of the jungles of Vertiline, there is a Temple where the Lady resides. Since time immemorial, she and her stewards have done their part to both guide and protect the land and those that call it home.
But now there are reports, whispers, of something beyond the power of the Lady and her trusted few to quell. Of creatures and dangers come from some other land, set to overrun that which has been so long maintained.
It is with no other avenues left to her that the Lady has made her decision. To save Vertiline, she must sound the Call, summoning people beyond worlds and borders to aid in the cause. A cause not their own, but now forever entwined with their destiny.
Reserves currently open. Applications open June 28. Game opens July 1.
"Long ago, people lived in peace, bathed in the warmth of light. Everyone loved the light. Then people began to fight over it. They wanted the light for themselves. And darkness was born in their hearts. The darkness spread, swallowing the light and many people's hearts. It covered everything, and the world disappeared."
Long ago, the world was bathed in light. And to protect this light, people were granted mystic keys known as the Keyblade. But not just anyone. No, only those with something special in their hearts could obtain this Keyblade. And together, they guarded the border between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. Everything in the universe was at peace, and travel between the worlds was relatively free and safe

06. It's honestly not as bad as it used to be, but I agree that it can still be a little much.
08. Anon, you may have had good intentions, but this entire secret comes off as extremely patronizing and trips on more than a few Geek Social Fallacies.
09. but... the movies are the AUs of that canon, anon. Not the other way around. So, yes, the onus is on YOU, the movie!verse player, to do the research if you want to have non-rocky threading with their comic book counterparts. Not on them.
I think you might be misunderstanding the secret. The original secret was pretty much "movie!verse characters need to know the comic books", regardless on if the things from the comic were changed or didn't exist in the movie!verse. This secret is saying that movie!verse characters who do know all the comic info, regardless on if it's canon to the movie or not, are in the wrong. Or, at least, that's how I'm reading it.
9: ...what? the movies are a separate continuity from the comics; as such, many of the things from the comics don't apply to movie canon at all. Why the hell should there be any onus on the movie!verse player to research a canon that isn't their own, as long as they have a good grasp on the movie!verse character they're playing?
Also, isn't it about a million times easier for players from the comics to watch a few 2 hour movies and be up on that canon than it is for players from the movies to read up on possibly decades of comics canon, just in case they might be 'threading with their comic book counterparts'? Who cares if they're threading with their comic book counterparts? The movie character wouldn't know anything about them, so to be IC, the mun doesn't really have to, either.
You know, considering the fact that just the other day I was considering screaming "FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS" at a certain comm over a certain ridiculous wank (for which I promptly, probably, would have been banned), this sekrit is... amazingly apropos. I swear it's like walking through a minefield over there sometimes.
Seconded. I'd enabled e-mail notifications for Junefield posts so that I wouldn't miss any memes but I recently disabled them because it's gotten to be a bit much.
