Well hooray for finally getting something done for
tthdrabbles Amnesty Challenge. I have so many half started ficlets for past challenges and I am really hoping to make some headway on them this week.
Natural Elements was a little series of four double drabbles I did ages ago, but I never got a chance to finish the fourth. At last!
Some background: Classical Astrology uses Four Elements to organize the Zodiac signs. Each element has positive and negative traits and each is also associated with a suit of Tarot. These first four drabbles explore a character representing a positive trait, a second representing a negative trait and a the tarot symbol associated with that element.
Here are the previously posted drabbles in this set:
*
Fire (Neverending Story, Willow & Bastian)*
Earth(Fables, Anya & Jack)*
Water (Weather Wardens, Xander & Joanne) Title: Not as Dumb as He Looks
Author: Vesica
Rating: G
Fandoms: BtVS/HP
Word Count: 200
tthdrabbles Challenge: #18 - The Elements
Fic-For-All Pairing: Darla, Draco Malfoy (HP)
Disclaimer: Just a bit of mucking about in other people’s sandboxes.
Summary: London was great fun. Pity about all the darn wizards.
He was such a pretty boy, Darla thought. It was almost a pity to kill him.
Almost.
She flashed a sultry pout. “It’s rather crowded in here. Want to go somewhere a little more…private?”
Draco blinked a few times, a deer frozen in the light of her smile. “Um…sure.”
She led him towards the back of the pub and up the stairs to the roof.
The moon was full, its white light making the cool London night seem even colder and she faked a subtle shiver, but he didn’t notice.
He was too busy looking up at the stars and fiddling with something in his pocket.
“There’s something I should tell you,” she purred, stroking the lapel of his jacket.
She traced along his jaw and down his neck with her fingernail, leaning close to whisper in his ear. “I’m a-”.
She was cut off by something poking her in the ribs.
“Vampire? Yes, I had realized. Not quite as dumb as I look.”
She stepped back to find a wand pointed at her chest.
Her lip curled in a snarl. “Ugh - a wizard.”
And with that, she calmly stepped off the third story roof and vanished into the night.
END.
Air: Logic/Objectivity (Draco), Inconstant/Changeable (Darla), and the tarot suit of Wands.
