my fatty fat fat salad last night was AWESOME. of course, i should have been able to predict its awesomeness, considering it had 50 grams of fat in it. i imagine most of the fat came from the avocado and the pecans sprinkled on top. in any event, it was one of the best salads i'd ever had. and because 50 grams of fat IS JUST NOT ENOUGH, i made rice pudding for dessert. but i used a recipe for it out of George Bernard Shaw's vegetarian cookbook, so it was an old-fashioned, healthy recipe that called for 3 tsps of honey instead of sugar. this should have been my first warning sign. it's not disgusting or anything, but it's hardly sweet at all. i actually packed it as the main course of my lunch today, because it's mostly rice, milk, and raisins, and that sounds pretty substantial to me. tonight i'm going to have a frozen pizza and another, less fatty salad for dinner. i am gradually getting out of my cooking funk.
so i wasn't up to much last night. cooked a bit, read more, hung out with Snugs on the balcony, and watched Dog: The Bounty Hunter. that is another, new tv addiction of mine. i love his clip-on hair coupled with his devotion to God. that is an entertaining combination.
i swear, the ceiling fan in the bedroom is my saving grace from the heat. we have had 95 degree weather recently but i've been able to sleep through the night, with a cover over me no less, because of my beloved ceiling fan. i am not even that anxious to get a window air conditioner. and that is saying a lot! it also helps that our apartment faces north so it doesn't get the direct hit of the sun.
my weekend plans are starting to take shape. on friday, we're going to see Vaughniston in The Breakup. on saturday, we're going to a wedding of a friend of mine. we're not that close, but we hung out a lot last year when i took that postgrad college program. we see each other for a half hour lunch maybe twice a month now, but this wedding is going to be the biggest one i've ever been to, so i'm basically going for the spectacle and the food. i heard rumours of a midnight pizza and chocolate fondue buffet. HUMINA. it'll be like i'm on the cruise again. it'll be nice to see her finally get married, too. we met two weeks after she got engaged so our entire friendship has been spent thinking about her wedding. it was a two year engagement. crazies. on sunday, i am going to vegetate with newspaper in hand. that is the only way to properly do sundays.
but it's only wednesday, so i shouldn't be looking so far ahead. right now i should concentrate on work. my next task is to clean out the toaster over in the staff room. how lucky am i? i bet you wish you were me right now.
