The Joy of Sick Days

Bleh, so I got up today and went to the doctor. I have some sort of infection thing that's going around. I got a shot and some antibiotics and should be good as new in a few days. I've pretty much spent today lying around watching America's Next Top Model marathons and trying to feel better. The last couple of days at work have been torture, so I ( Read more... )

Yea, I about swoon whenever I watch it. Though I went on a slight Devil hiatus while I watched Coffee Prince. And now I'm going back and forth between The Devil and One Fine Day because I'm almost equally fascinated with Gong Yoo now... If only I could accidently run into one of them while in Seoul...

Yes, I'm going to be working there. It's kind of odd because in a way, Korea choose me. I've really been into Japanese culture for a long time but in the back of my mind I always wanted to see Korea. This summer I started looking for English-teaching jobs in Japan, but unfortunately could find none. A friend suggested I look into Berlitz, because they were suppose to be a really good company. So I did, but they didn't have any openings in Japan. But they did have openings in South Korea. So, I applied on a whim thinking they wouldn't hire me. And they did!

And that's when I started checking out Korea dramas and music. I wanted to start getting into the culture a bit, just to cut down on the culture shock, but I had been a fan of Younha and "My Sassy Girl" for a while before. But naturally, I ended up falling in love with Korean culture in the process. And now I can't wait to leave the States and get to Korea. But I still have a little over a month...

Aw, that's no fun. I'm just working during the day, so I watch at least one episode of something at night before I go to bed. Some days I watch two, depending on when I get home and what my family is doing.

I thought Gong Yoo was much cuter than the best friend. ^_^ I don't know if I'll go as far to stalk them (Seoul is REALLY big) but if I happen to see them on the street I may go out of my way to "accidently" bump into them. ^_^

I do have a place to live for the first few months, and then they let me choose my own apartment and if I want roommates and such. So I have three months to find that. If I don't, I can choose to stay in company housing, but I think it's kind of expensive so I'll probably move.

And yes, it is an English language school that teaches English to Korean people, mostly business professionals and adults. I'll be there for a year, but there is a possibility for me to extend my contract, so I might stay longer, who knows. ^_^ Even if I do stay, I'll have to come home for a bit to Florida, in order to have my visa renewed.
