Many majiks are killed; many mermaids are killed. Some -- perhaps a hundred or so -- flee to the lake surrounding the tree, and drift to the depths. Elimyr stays in her little bubble, unmoving [tag here if you want to try and get her attention, scan her through enchantment, etc.].
The first few days are spent licking the wounds received in battle. The dead are burned, in a trench downwind of the city, by exhausted fire mages; the armies retreat to their respective camps, turning their injuries to treating the injured. Some of the best soldiers are sent into the city itself, to clear the ruins of any remaining enemy forces. They uncover what's possibly the remaining population of Mage City, dozens of majiks apparently conscious but unresponsive to touch or sound.
After those first few days, the armies start cautiously settling into the city. Things are tense; no one knows if the ceasefire that made this collective stand possible is going to last. There are squabbles over territory and resources until River Royal, Frederick, Quahl and a goblin with long, white hair meet together. Following that, the city is divided into territories. The skirmishes get fewer, but the conflict grows more and more tense.
A team of demons and goblins, joined by a scarce few humans and elves, set to work repairing the water main, which was burst by Elimyr. Earth mages construct a thin spire of ground, a path that leads all the way out to the tree.
Trade lines slowly open. There's general grumbling about the absence of Kenneth Quinn, without whom everything is run just that much more poorly.
Throughout all this, worldwalker concerns are generally dismissed and overlooked. Unless they're pushed.
Today, Tuesday, the water main is finally restored. The city is, at least in part, habitable again.
