[As soon as she woke up in her cell at the Keep, Iriel counted to ten. It was the only thing that kept her from running out and exposing herself in a potentially hostile environment. While counting, she checked herself for weapons. Bow and quiver, check. Handgun, check. Knife, check. Rifle...missing. The last time she'd had it, it had been kicked

[It's been awhile since he's used a callsign but once he hears his it comes right back to him. There's only a few people that know that name and only one whose voice that belongs too. Excuse him while he takes a moment to celebrate. Sure it might be a little selfish, the resistance needs her a lot more than he does, but it's just been so damn long since he last saw her.]
Where are you? The keep? The barracks?
[Probably the barracks. Not a place he wants to go but if she's there then the trip will be worth it.]
Reply
A cell. Barracks maybe?
[She turns her record around to show her room. At this point, Iriel doesn't care if this is a secure network. The quicker Riah can get to her, the better.]
I'm going to try the door.
Reply
[Riah is already sprinting in that direction. His healing bones protest at this but he ignores them. Finding Iriel comes first, then he can give them a break. Although personally he feels like he's been sitting around long enough.]
Give me the room number. Already on my way.
[Hopefully he can get to her before all the strangeness does. Nothing like having your situation explained to you by some weird mutant creature thing that talks.]

She yanked her door open and looked at the number on it.]
4147.
[Iriel found a key inside her room, and locked the door behind her. If Riah was on her way, she'd be ready and waiting for him.]

[Riah flies up the stairs, taking them two at a time and only slowing long enough to briefly check the room numbers. Once he's on the right floor he doesn't stop until he finds Iriel outside her room.]
Iriel...
[There's no hiding how happy he is to see her right now. It's in his tone and on the smile on his face. She's here. She's actually here.]
You're a sight for sore eyes.

She met Riah halfway down the hall and patted him on the shoulder.]
The feeling's mutual. Where are where and is there anywhere safe to go? Have you seen Kobus? Fiel? The others?
Reply
You're the first I've seen. [Outside Abeni anyway.]
Safe comes and goes with this place. Things have settled for now but I'm not sure how long they'll stay that way. I've been bunking in the stables since I got here.

[Well, that means they're still in Deadworld. Iriel's not sure if she's comforted or disturbed to know that. They were minus a teammate, but now it was just her and Riah in this weird place.
Iriel noticed the wince and she frowned at him, but nodded at his words.]
Let's get to the stables then. [If Riah had a reason to not be in the barracks, she'd trust it.]
And on a scale of one to ten how on-alert do I need to be?
Reply
[Of course, seeing the way she's armed he can make a pretty good guess as to where the rest of them are. It does nothing to comfort him.
He sees her frown but says nothing. For years he's dealt with broken bones, stab wounds, gun shot wounds, and everything in between. A little residual pain from healing limbs isn't much to deal with.]
Right, follow me.
[He turns and begins heading out of the barracks trusting her to follow.]
Five on a good day. Ten on a bad.
[Even when things are normal some people can't seem to just let things be. It reminds him of Deadworld in a way. Not a comparison he likes to make.]

[Wait something was wrong here. He'd been bunking in the stables? That sounded suspiciously like multiple days. Iriel had seen him mere hours ago. Iriel followed Riah, but considering what he'd said about still being at a five on a good day, and the time discrepancies, she wasn't any more relaxed.
There were just too many screwy things happening.]
So what's the deal? Where in the hell are we and how did we get here? I read that Deior's note but he sounds like he's got a few screws loose.
Reply
Right before what? Because the last thing I remember before ending up here was working on one of my projects.
[No one told him of any mission that day. In fact he wasn't even aware that anyone had left.
Zachariah rubs his temple and keeps walking. Just another layer of weird to add to this place it looks like.]
I don't know much about this place, just a layout. I know even less about Deior and how we got here. One thing I do know though, is that this definitely isn't Halis.

[Iriel studied their surroundings as Riah led them out of the barracks. As soon as they were outside, she could see for herself that this place was definitely nothing like Halis.
If she was disappointed by Riah's lack of intelligence on their location, she didn't show it. At the moment she just wanted to get a handle on anything she could. She'd investigate more as she was able.]
You're going to need to fill me in as much as you can as soon as we get to these stables of yours. This whole thing smells like shit, Riah.
Reply
[His heart sank into his stomach. So he was right. Fiel and the others are in Deadworld right now, and here was celebrating that he found Iriel. If he could kick himself he would.]
Don't worry I will, but you got to promise not to call me crazy afterwards because I'm finding it pretty hard not to call myself that these days.
[Once they arrived at the stables, Zachariah pushed the door open and showed Iriel inside.]
Ta-da, home sweet...barn.
Reply
[Because she may be just as crazy in the end. She might be hallucinating all of this honestly. Nothing was adding up and it made her uneasy, to say the least.
Iriel followed Riah up to the barn and took a look around. Blankets. Lots of blankets. Depressions in the hay. Unless Riah slept in different places every night, it was possible someone else was bunking up here with him. Interesting.
She turned to give him a look.]
Alright, tell me what in the hell is going on. I want to know everything.
Reply
Always nice to have your support Iriel.
[Zachariah slumps against one of the bails of hay and takes a breath as he collects his thoughts. He needed a way to put this that didn't make him look completely out of his mind.]
Not sure if I can tell you everything but I can tell you what I know. We aren't the only ones here. This place is full of people, and none of them have heard of Halis, Gerard, or any of it. In fact, um, not everyone here is even human.
[He stops there to gauge her reaction. It might not be everything but it's still a lot to take in, and he doesn't even know how to tell her about Abeni.]
