[As soon as she woke up in her cell at the Keep, Iriel counted to ten. It was the only thing that kept her from running out and exposing herself in a potentially hostile environment. While counting, she checked herself for weapons. Bow and quiver, check. Handgun, check. Knife, check. Rifle...missing. The last time she'd had it, it had been kicked out of her hands by one of Gerard's Deadworld guards. It would have made her feel better to have it, especially since she still had a couple clips on hand for it, but at least what weapons she had were better than nothing. She was somewhere strange and unfamiliar, and it was only the decor and abundance of amenities (ones she'd never expect to find in a prison cell) that kept her from immediately concluding that Gerard was somehow behind her abduction.
After checking for her belongings, and finding the slender figurine of Levia in her other pocket, Iriel began examining her surroundings. She looked out the slender window at the wall, into every nook and cranny of her cell, before finally picking up the journal by the bed.
Iriel found the note from Lord Deior first. She read it once, and then again with a snort of disbelief. It wasn't until she saw other entries, one from a familiar friend, that Iriel's investigation was completely sidetracked.
It was completely by luck that Iriel managed to activate the video function of her record when speaking.]
Nice little read they gave me here. How much of it is true and how much of it is complete and utter bullshit?
[She paused a moment.]
And Mouse, if you're around, come in, dammit.
[This shit is freaky-deaky.]
