Orthros no Inu

The premise of the drama is quite interesting. One who is "evil" but can cure people and one who is "good" but can kill people. Just with a touch. This is actually the first drama I watched that starred Takizawa Hideaki. I have to admit... right off the bat, the drama didn't really capture my attention. It was interesting, but somehow nothing really jumped out for me. But I kept with it and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

The storyline was a little slow moving and it was a little predictable with Shinji's and Ryosuke's relationship. There were some unexpected twists, but nothing shocking. Mizukawa Asami's character was a little irritating to me. I first saw her in Shitsuren Chocolatier and then in Ghost Writer. She seems to play very similar characters. Kinda tough on the outside, but still vulnerable on the inside. Honestly, I still have to finish Shitsuren, but I digress. I can't really pinpoint what it was that I made me dislike her, but it was hard to watch her on the show.

The main cast was okay. I'll have to watch Takky is something else to decide if I like his acting. He is nice to look at so that helps. I've seen Nishikido is other roles and he's a decent actor. It's his persona on variety shows that turn me off a little bit. Sasaki Kuranosuke is such a great actor. I've seen him in many dramas and he's so good at at playing all different characters.

The theme song by Takky - Hikari Hitotsu is okay. Nothing memorable, but maybe I need to study the lyrics to see if and how it fits with the drama.

Rating: 7 out of 10
