I feel like I stick my foot in my mouth far more often than I should for someone my age, both offline and on.

I never mean to say something that could be taken in the wrong way, but it happens to me. A lot.

*sigh*

Anyway, I listened to an older episode of Writing Excuses today at work, one about beginnings. And it totally inspired me to write a ( Read more... )

I usually feel like, if there's the remotest possibility of sticking my foot in my mouth, I will. (And then I'll angst about it for days on end. Woe!) Anyway, I hear ya. :-/

But yays for revisions! Regarding netbooks, my advice is--make sure you have some opportunity to test out the feel of the keyboard. I ordered a Dell Mini 9 awhile ago, little knowing that they'd crammed in the apostrophe key in a ridiculous spot, and I practically had to retrain myself to type on it. Not cool. But they are great for portability! It was awesome bein able to just stick my computer in my purse. :D

Murphy's Law of the interwebs, yes? Blargh.

Yes, I was thinking that as well. I have long monkey fingers, so I'm hoping it won't be too cramped. :/

I keep thinking about a netbook for easier portability, but to be honest, I like a full-size keyboard. It's the only thing that makes me hesitate.

Same here. Maybe this weekend I'll stroll around the electronics store and test keyboard sizes. I'm not used to purchasing computers in person, oddly enough. I usually go online to someplace like newegg for a deal and once I find the specs I like, clicked and bought. This will be a new experience for me. :D

Well you can certainly do that, but make sure you'll be comfy typing on it. I use a combination approach where I price shop and talk to the reps about pros and cons and what I'm using it for and take their name and card and tell them I appreciate their help. Then buy it online for cheaper LOL

(And I've been buying my laptops from HP for YONKS so I fondle in person and then use the website to get all the specs I want.)

Heh, all my computers have been HP too. *brofist*

But that's a good strategy: feel 'em up in person; get the better deal online. Sounds like a plan.
