Happiness is...
- not having to get up early, tomorrow
- my sweetie of a husband
- movie musings

My husband has been very sweet, lately. The other day, he was griping about a 'stop smoking' ad he'd seen on the telly. 'They'll just say all the normal things - taste food, more money, etc,' he raved. 'None of those things would motivate me to stop smoking.'

'What would?' I asked.

'Two weeks in New Zealand with my wife,' he replied. 'I'd put all my money to that.'

Now, we both recognise that the chances of him stopping are virtually nil, but at least he has identified something that would at least make him think about it. And he knows New Zealand is a place I'd love to go to.

Then, today, I got a surprise poem from him - I even printed it out for cheering up purposes when work is being shitty. It was part slush, part humerous - saying that he loved me even more than his favourite Liverpool players, which I found rather touching :p

DW currently has a thread about movies with twists/surprise endings. The ones I've come up with are:

* Wild Things - the twists start about half way through (I think - it's ages since I watched it) and then just keep on coming!

* The Crying Game - probably helps to know a bit about cricket, but that one made me :)

* Sixth Sense - didn't see the ending coming at all. I tend to submerge in what I'm reading/watching and just go along with it - I never try to guess whodunnit, for example.

* The Usual Suspects was another one that left me with my jaw dropping.

* Saw was painful to watch and it's beyond my comprehension how they've managed to make 6 of them (or whatever it is).

* House of the Long Shadows is a classic of the 'twist in the tail' genre :p

* Seven - real shocker

Well, that's all for now, LJ. Toodles.

hols, love, husband, movies
