Quite a good weekend I had, to be fair.
For starters the weather was nice, which is always a bonus. Friday afternoon saw the first walk of the 6K, and although we didn’t quite get the who 6K done I think we did quite well considering we had only a basic idea of where we were going and the distances, but I enjoyed it. Course the chippy was bad, but we’re breaking ourselves in gently, lol. I think we’re doing it again on Wednesday, only ice cream instead if it’s a good day, lol and we’ll walk further so hopefully we’ll get the right distance and then some, lol.
I also ended up in Poundstretcher for yarn at bargainous prices. I got blue and green, and have plans for the blue already. Its just the right shade for the scarecrows and I have one to do for Ian’s birthday… its what he wanted, I’m not being cheap. At home, I sorted the wool I do have… into a big massive pop up tidy is all the unused/unopened stuff and in the hanging tidy is the stuff that has been used/opened, all nicely wound into small, tight balls and colour coded. Blues and greens are in one, reds orange and pinks in another and everything else in another. Purples are classed as everything else cuz they would have messed up my system, lol.
Saturday… what did I do? I knitted more of the evil cardigan. When I pinned it altogether one front section was longer than the other, so I had to rip it back and start again, it didn’t take long thankfully then it was pinned out again, photographed and then I started the evil picking up stitches and ribbing (which I’m crap at) I did the front of one side, the pocket of another and then I stopped. It was late, I was tired and I didn’t want to make a mistake like the one I had already done…. You’ll see what I mean when I get pictures.
My dad and brother were busy knocking down fences all weekend, mixing concrete and building more fences. After I’d gutted my room and got my mother to order me a new bed with storage built in, I sat in the conservatory knitting wee rabbits for the mother. When I say knitting rabbits, I’ve only a bit of one done cuz I had washing on the go and a lovely dinner and apple crumble in the oven. Domestic goddess I am, lol.
The plan for tonight… maybe get the rest of the rabbit done and then have another stab at this cardigan. I’m starting to doubt the fit of this thing, as in it won’t. I’ll make it fit, lol, tie it round her neck if I have to, lol. I was mildly distraught with ebay over the weekend. I was trying to get some expensive stuff that was on quite cheap but I was outbid by 50p, and I got some other stuff to make a shawl thing and a pair of fingerless arm length gloves. Hopefully they’ll both be nice, and then its onto my tank top, lol. It doesn’t have sleeves so Im allowed to make it, lol. Course, I have to get everything else done first.
Finished downloading the last ever episode of SG1 last night, just have to make my way through season 3-9 before I can watch it. Although, there are 2 direct to DVD movies on the way, and another spin-of ‘Stargate Universe’, so it’ll continue for another 10 years hopefully, lol.
