Fairy Grandmother
► That's a bit of a relief. My aunt and maternal grandmother stopped by yesterday afternoon. They couldn't stay long, and my grandmother couldn't manage the steep staircase to get to my apartment so it wasn't a long visit. My grandmother gave me envelops, one for myself and one for my sister. She's apparently giving each grandchild a few hundred dollars. It couldn't come at a better time as Dean has been in some financial difficulty this month and falling behind, and it allows me to pay off half of the money I owe my dad for my new television, and allow me to put some on my credit card.
I'm also going to use a bit to finally buy myself a nice art portfolio for my comic book art collection. It'll be nice to store the drawings in a proper folder, and not an overstuffed used postal envelope.
I just wish I could have had a longer visit with Mum, since I rarely get to see her now.
► Bleeding Cool: Jim Lee And Scott Snyder To Launch Man Of Steel Comic For 2013? - It seems reasonable that DC Comics would want to debut a new Superman comic with a title tying into the the upcoming Man of Steel movie next summer, let alone branching out a new high profile Superman series during the character's landmark 75th anniversary year. My only qualms is with the erratic direction and creative shuffling of the self-titled Superman comic, and Grant Morrison's approaching departure from Action Comics, is the Superman line really stable enough to warrant tossing a third series into the mix?

► CBR: Match.com Reveals Superman & Wonder Woman's First Kiss, Dating Profiles - Cute. That said, it's now fairly obvious this high profile Superman and Wonder Woman romance is just a publicity stunt. I'm not saying that's necessarily bad, but it seems blatant now.

► Lexgo: Lexington couple benefit from runaway success of 'Fifty Shades' - I guess some good has come out of Fifty Shades of Grey. Given Deana bought the box set of the 3 books on Friday as a lark, I would hope so. She makes it sound as if she bought the books as a joke. That doesn't help.

► Cracked: 6 True Stories That Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity - Because sometimes people don't totally suck.
► Villafane Studios - Pumpkin Carving, Sand Sculpting, Action Figure Creating:: The Pumpkins - I suddenly feel horribly ashamed for all of the really shitty Jack-o'-lanterns I carved over the years.
