► This hasn't been a fun week. Late Monday afternoon I started feeling rundown and had developed a sore throat. By Tuesday morning my sore throat had worsened and I was definitely sick. While I suppose it could just be an aggressive cold, I seem to have the flu this week, with body aches, chills, and fever. Not having any energy I've spent most of the past several days basically bedridden (getting up mostly just to check the cat, change his food and water and scoop out his litter box).
The silver lining in this is that I was able to watch a lot of DVDs on my new widescreen TV. I really do like this television a lot.
Anyway, today I'm feeling a lot better, as my fever seems to be gone, and the body aches have eased. My sore throat is gone, but whatever was causing it seems to have moved up into my sinuses. As sneezing and running and congested as I am now, I'm taking it as a good sign since I seem to be working the crap out of my system.
The only hitch is I had to skip going out again this week, but luckily Dad was able to pick up a few groceries for me. I should be well enough by next week to go out for my big monthly purchases.
► Last weekend I bid on a couple of inexpensive drawings on Ebay. They were drawn by
Michael Powell, an artist I commissioned last year. The auctions ended while I was offline bedridden. While I lost the first auction, I won the second drawing for $10. It's a nude
Power Girl. Michael had drawn Power Girl clean shaven, and after I won I sent him a note asking if it was possible for him to give her a full bush, which he did at no extra charge. He sent me a new scan of the updated drawing.
Given my lack of impulse control, it shouldn't come as any shock that I have since commissioned 3 sketches from Michael for $11 each. I'm asking for sketches of
Big Barda,
Batgirl, and my own
Utopia. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.

The Star: Empire State Building shooting: 2 dead, 9 injured as laid-off worker opens fire on former co-worker - Guy shoots former co-worker and walks away. Police show up and open fire out on what's called the busiest street in the United States when the killer raised his gun without firing. Not surprisingly, all of the injured people were shot by the police, because if
New York Police Department needs anything it's more bad press from shooting innocent people.
