Dread-for-naught
► It's only Monday and yet I'm already jittery and anxious about Friday. With my first therapy appointment in 5 weeks, and the anticipation and worrying about my new TV arriving at the Sears that day and worrying that it'll be okay, I just seem to be... well, worried a lot. I think I just thought things would be a lot smoother and I'd be on surer footing this week and for the rest of the month last week, only to have that rug pulled out from under me. I'll be fine, of course. This is just me doing my usual "worry about everything, even stuff that's unlikely" routine.
Plus Dean missed work today, her first day in about a month so I'm terrified of her slipping back into another spiral. She assures me she'll be fine tomorrow, however, so I hope that's true.

Defending in court the man who killed their own client to get out of paying their own client's estate and family the money they were due. That's just overwhelmingly vicious and coldhearted.

Derek: he was a true legend, one of the best
KimW: Indeed, great artist, great teacher and great person.
Derek: great storyteller too, lot of modern comic book artists can't tell stories well
Derek: you could take the dialog out and still understand Joe's comics
KimW: And they always have the perfect atmosphere.
It's always sad when one of the greats from the Golden and Silver age of comics passes (or from any era, for that matter), but I find myself sadden by Joe Kubert's death more than most. While I often admire the contribution writers and artists from the period made to the comic book industry, when it came to Joe I also honestly loved and enjoyed his work on a personal and genuine level. He was definitely among the greats, but I also think he was easily and simply one of the best. He'll definitely be missed.
