► Now that's nice. Earlier this afternoon I opened out front door to put some things in the blue box, which we keep on the front landing and I saw that someone had hung a flyer on the stairwell railing. It's an advance notice warning that they'll be doing maintenance on the watermain and cutting off our water. Presumably for the maintenance and water cut-off from yesterday. Advanced warning the next day? Timely.
I aware of the possibility that this flyer is separate and means that they'll be doing more work in the next few days, but forgive me if I don't give the city that much credit.
► Dinner at Dad and Claire's condo yesterday was nice. Spaghetti with meat sauce. It was delish.
While both Dean and I had been invited, she opted not to go since she wanted to go to bed when she got home as she hadn't slept much the night before. As she was my ride, Dad had to pick me up, and he came to get me at 3:30pm. Supper was going to be late so we managed to fit in all of my start of the month shopping, stopping at the comic book shop, Walmart, and then the grocery store. I actually ended up having a panic attack while waiting in live at Walmart, although I managed to keep from showing it. When you're standing under an air conditioner vent in a cool building and you're sweating profusely, you're not exactly relaxed.
Dad still wants me to go out with him on Friday, to visit my grandmother and also to help him find the proper cable to connect his new BluRay player to his TV. I don't feel completely up to it, but I figure I'll make an effort to do it. I'm further testing myself by having eaten today, having had a fried chicken Hungryman TV dinner early this afternoon. It doesn't seem like much, but it's monumental for me where I currently am headwise.
At the comic book shop I picked up my monthly comics and
my life sized cardboard standee of
Scarlett Johansson as
Black Widow. I have to admit to being slightly disappointed with it when I got it home as it wasn't glossy finished like my
Han Solo standee I bought in 1995, and image isn't sharp in close up. If you stand a few feet away from it the image looks good, but up close it starts to look like an
Impressionist painting. Just to be clear, I do like the standee and I'm happy I bought it. She's currently standing in my bedroom beside my TV. The smaller size means I have more freedom to display her than I do my Han Solo standee, which is currently folded up in my closet. It's probably a bit risky to have her on display right now, because it's probably just a matter of time before Stormy decides her feet need trimming, or he decides to scale her. Risky, but I spent enough and waited two months for it, so I want to at least see her, even if just for a few days.
While getting my comics I also asked Randy, the shop owner, to take
Earth 2 and
Worlds' Finest off of my pull list. I just decided I haven't really enjoyed either series, and I've been wanting to get my list down to just a few comics again. This means I'm down to 5 titles:
Action Comics,
Superman,
Aquaman,
Justice League, and
Batgirl. At Walmart I bought
B & V Friends Double Digest #227, an
Archie Comics digest.

Zap2it: NBC airs water polo wardrobe malfunction - People must be hard-up for drama if this causes a shitstorm. It's a physical sport where people are flailing in water grasping and grappling for purchase. uniforms are going to slip. But, oh noes! A nipple briefly in view! Won't somebody think of the children?!
Society, media too, grow the fuck up.

CBR: Bryan Singer Confirms "X-Men" Heading To "Days of Future Past" - I was surprised at how good
X-Men: First Class was, so given that it's the same creative team making
this film, I expect it to be good too. Good, albeit very different if not completely unrecognizable for
the storyline they're using as the source material.
