► Really beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with me. Well, aside from the usually list of things wrong with me. I've been feeling really tired for the past several days and just seem to be dragging my feet, sluggish and sleepy. Also, I've been noticing for a few weeks now that when I'm sitting up on my desk stool or standing up I get this sensation as if I'm slightly swaying. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like I'm on a listing boat, or have been swimming in a pool for too long. And to that the occasional "lurching" sensation in my head when I'm leaning over the sink and I'm wondering if I might have an inner ear infection.
Really, I have no idea, but it's possible it's all just nerves. I have barely eaten in the past week and a half because of my nerves, and that would explain the lack of energy. The harder to explain part is the swaying and "lurching" since it started a month ago, but even then that could be the result of my drinking less water lately. Not leaving the apartment for the better part of a month (while the windows are all shut and my sister smokes) must not be helping either.
When Dad gets back from Myrtle Beach in a few weeks and I start going out again, maybe I'll feel better.
► Yesterday I neglected to mention a minor victory of mine: I finally received my
Medusa Eaglemoss lead figurine.
To explain we need to step back a bit. Eaglemoss is a company in the UK that produces collectable lead figurines that each come with their own character specific magazine (these are known as "
partwork" in the UK). My English friend Kai used to get ones from the
Lord of the Rings line around 10 years ago. When Eaglemoss got the rights to produce a
Marvel Comics line in 2005, and then a
DC Comics line in 2008, she had told me. Unfortunately the figures were only available in the UK. Or so I thought.
A year and a half ago my local friend Gene mentioned lead figurines in passing and I discovered that my comic shop was able to specially order them all along. I was lucky enough to get orders in for the
Power Girl,
Big Barda and
Batgirl figures as they were each released. A month or two ago I found a UK based seller on Ebay who has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of the figures (as he lists upwards of 150 - 200 new auctions each week). From him I was able to get
Jean Grey,
Black Cat,
She-Hulk,
Medusa, and
Ms. Marvel (I won/bought Ms. Marvel on the weekend and she was mailed yesterday; I should get her next Monday). I've gotten them all for around $20-24 each, which might seem like a lot but is actually much less than most of the other sellers online, and close to what my comic shop charges (roughly $25).
To get back on my original point, the Medusa figure was a bit of a coop for me because I had lost several auctions for her, and finally won one over a week ago. She arrived yesterday morning and looks fantastic. Unfortunately I have no place for all of these figurines just yet, so they're still in their individual protective plastic sleeves and in a cardboard box at the foot of my bed.
The companion character magazine amused me with this description:"If you like redheads this is your gal. If you like '80s backcombed hairstyles this is your gal. If you're a hair fetishist this is definitely your gal."

Meet Cheetah, Boston Dynamics' Terrifyingly Fast Running Robot (Video) - All the stuff they've been doing has been amazing, but also disturbing to me. Their
BigDog robot (mentioned in the article) is just really creepy and unsettling to me because it keeps triggering my "
Uncanny Valley" revulsion response. The movement is so human-like but in a very inhuman form... It just moves and looks like some kind of
Clive Barker nightmare.

Superman Constructs Rescue in Frank's "Action Comics" #8 Variant - Now this is a
Superman cover, saving and helping people. Sad that you rarely see that nowadays in superhero comics.
