► Really pushed myself, relatively speaking, today. Feel a bit more secure than I have since last Thursday. As I've mentioned before, I have an incredibly difficult time leaving home after eating. This morning I was still feeling bloated and full from my 2 Whoppers, fries and large ice tea the night before. I wasn't able to sleep either, so I didn't expect to be able to go out with Dad to the comic shop. So I called him around 9:30am and I decided to at least try, figuring that if it's just to the comic shop, then it'd be quick.
Took my shower, and afterward I took a small Imodium pill just in case. Maybe I shouldn't have. I don't know. Still felt very worried when Dad got here and we left. He had to go to the bank so I walked the block down to the comic shop. Things went fine, and he said he needed to run an errand at the mall, so I agreed to go. This upped the worry since the mall was where I had the attack last week, but I managed to at least seem relaxed while there, browsing a few shops. We picked up Subway sandwiches at the food court and headed back to my apartment to eat lunch (mine was a foot long cold cut sub on whole wheat with lettuce and mustard, my meal for the day).
After we finished eating he asked me to check something for him online. He said that the golf site he had ordered those DVDs from also had a manual he could download. He wanted me to download and print it for him. I downloaded it but reminded him that I haven't had printer ink in over a year. So he suggested we quickly go to Staples/Business Depot and get some before he had to go to his bowling league. At this point I'm now doubly full and worried. Still, I figured I'd be "shore uped" by that Imodium pill from earlier and decided to try pushing myself a bit further than my boundaries. The drive down to Staples was a really anxious one for me, my stomach gurgling and my nerves racing. Popped a couple of antacids to jointly settle my stomach and give me something to focus my energy on by chewing.
But I digress. There was some momentary confusion (they changed the labeling slightly since last time I bought them) but we got the ink cartridges. Dad dropped me off and left and I immediately put the ink in the printer and started printing his golf swing manual. At 108 pages, it took the better part of two hours and used up over 40% of the black ink (I didn't want it wasting the colour on background crap). I was actually impressed.
Now I'm tempted to print some new photo paper pictures for my bulletin board. Maybe a couple of the recent ATKhairy models I like... Cause I'm such a perv.
► No shopping for me for awhile. At least nothing major (just minor groceries as needed; i.e. bread and juice). Things at the comic shop ended up costing more than I expected. So between my share of the rent and bills, my Secret Santa gifts, birthday and Christmas gifts for Deana, the grocery store and Walmart last night and now the comics shop... I'm looking at just $164 until Christmas. That's the better part of 4 weeks.
As Radiohead said, "you do it to yourself." Yes I did. Although, in fairness, it's still a decent sum of money, more than some have, so I'm not complaining.
► Picked up my monthly comics and there were a few more than I expected. Seems like the different
Project Superpowers mini series had double issues this past month. Also picked up my copy of unusually named
Showcase Presents DC Comics Presents Superman Team-Ups Vol 1 tradepaperback and that extra copy of the hard to get
DC Universe Classics Blue Beetle figure. That's enough awesomeness to last me awhile.
Unfortunately I forgot to pre-order
Showcase Presents World's Finest Vol 3. Suppose I could just call the shop tomorrow.
