Why Recced: A misunderstanding between the team and an Elder desperate to help his people results in them locking up Rodney until he starts fixing their technology. Without food. That is what is so clever about this story. It is written from the point of view of Ketras, the Elder, who isn't actually an evil man, just one short on options. However the reader can see where with-holding food is going to rapidly lead. It's this outsider's perspective, and the fact that the whole situation hinges on a series of misunderstandings, that make this a fic worth revisiting.

Why Recced: This series of four very different ways that four very different kinds of fire showed the strength of the bonds between the team. Each ficlet would quite happily stand alone but together they are fantastic. Complete with satisfyingly fluffy moment of contented team at the end, just enjoying each others company and relaxing!

Why Recced: I love the so very characteristic ways that Rodney tries to get them all to leave him alone and the approaches that they use to get him to stop working and get some sleep are just as individual! A lovely feel-good fic!

Why Recced: I love the snappy way this starts and the humour, despite the very serious situation they are in, continues throughout. The friendship between Rodney and Radek, John and Ronon is incredibly clear with all three of them teasing Rodney so that he is distracted and doesn't panic! It's all the things that don't need said that speak loudest of all.

Why Recced: This is a great adventure story told from two sets of points of view. There is Raina and Herod with Rodney, who they kidnapped to get them to treasure through a series traps, needing someone highly intelligent who knew about the Ancients and the Wraith. The second point of view is of the team racing to save Rodney and trying to stay safe at the same time. It is a rip roaring action fic but still has some great character study and thoughtful emotional moments. I really loved the interaction of Rodney and Ronon, two very different men who would still die for each other.
Like the best kind of popcorn blockbuster...non-stop action but there's no idea to leave your brain at the door and you'll happily come back to it again and again!
